Available license types for ENVI-met

This article gives an overview of the different license types that can be purchased and their associated features.

Important note: To use ENVI-met, a personal One Click LCA Account is required. If a license has been purchased, your account will be linked to the license.

ENVI-met licenses are available in multiple editions:

  • Named Student license

  • Named Science license

  • Business license

    • Named

    • Concurrent/Floating

Each edition comes with different features, which are explained below.

ENVI-met Student License

This named license is available for currently enrolled students. Proof of enrollment is mandatory. It is recommended for smaller projects like a Bachelor's thesis.

Features:

  • Conduct holistic simulations and calculate thermal comfort indices

  • Access to all available output parameters

  • Simulations will run in single-core mode

  • The license can be activated on one machine

ENVI-met Science License

This license is intended and reserved for non-commercial research use. It allows up to 50 users to use ENVI-met on up to 50 machines. Just as with our Student and PhD license, it is a named license - so every individual user is required to have their own account.

Features:

  • Up to 50 named user seats

  • Dedicated license manager from your department will have the rights to manage the license access

  • Conduct holistic simulations and calculate thermal comfort indices

  • Access to all available output parameters

  • Simulations will run in multi-core mode

ENVI-met Business License

The Business License is available both as a named user and concurrent user license. The software features are the same for both, there are however differences in the license usage:

  • Named: One person is listed on the license and can run ENVI-met simulations on one machine, same as with the Student/PhD license.

  • Concurrent: Three accounts can be listed on the license. One person can run simulations on one machine at a time. Once the simulation is finished and ENVI-met is closed, the simulation seat is freed up and can be taken by one of the other users.

Features:

  • Conduct holistic simulations and calculate thermal comfort indices

  • Run fast, dedicated wind-flow or sun-hour simulations

  • Upload your results to One Click LCA to generate Word reports

  • Access to all available output parameters

  • Simulations will run in multi-core mode
